Last night was the soft opening of restaurateur Donald Chick’s “Park” on Henderson. The layout and design of the place reminded me of a modern-day, eclectic version of The Beverly Hills Hotel sprinkled with some Southern flare. The lighting and ambiance were on point, as was the food. We shared the mussels and pizza to start and for my main course I had a combination taco platter which was amazing. Park also has an extra-spacious bar and plenty of outdoor seating. I would definitely go back again and look forward to the rear lounge opening sometime in September. Cool Ride: L.E. Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3

Oh hell yes! Porsche Design shop is up to its old tricks again, after its equally ridiculous Editions 1 (Cayman S) and 2 (Boxster S), and they have upped the ante with the best Limited Edition model yet. Similar to the first 2 Editions, the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 features the special Lava Grey Metallic paint color, with special dark striping on the doors and hood that contrasts beautifully. The 21-inch SportPlus wheels are dipped in the same dark color to match. The “Porsche Design Edition 3″ badging on the door is a take it or leave it for me personally, but it definitely lets everyone know you don’t like to fuck around. The interior naturally features lots of carbon fiber trim, but the real shit is the black leather with red stitching. Dirty. Only 1,000 will be made, with only 100 available in the US. Oh, and it comes with a sick watch and 4-piece luggage set. More pics after the jump…

Nike + Tiger Woods = The Best

So because Nike obviously hates Kobe Bryant and refuses to put out a good commercial with him in it, we have to settle for their work with LBJ and Tiger Woods. Nike’s “The Good Life” commercial is welcoming back Tiger to the PGA. And as usual, it’s amazing.

In case you were wondering, my vision for the Kobe commercial involves slow motion, close ups, killer cross-overs, a 1,000 piece orchestra and one high-arching fadeaway that splashes all over the net and water flies everywhere. And thats the tag line….”Splash.” You’re welcome Nike.

Cool Case: “Curated by Arkitip” Steven Harrington

Having already seen the releases of the work done by Dutch artist Parra and legendary street artist KRINK, “Curated by Arkitip” (a project designed for Incase, aimed at delivering artistically embellished Apple products to users who have an appreciation for the creative arts and technology), has just dropped their third installment featuring original artwork from LA’s own Steven Harrington. Consisting of a MacBook Pro sleeve and an iPhone case, I have to say that this is by far my favorite one yet. I kind of wish I hadn’t jumped on that KRINK train so quickly. No worries though, looks like ms. doc has a barely-used MacBook sleeve in her not to distant future. Check out more detailed photos after the jump

Shaq-ovich or Shaq-the-bitch?

Shaq. The Diesel. Shaq Fu. The Big Daddy. Superman. Osama Bin Shaq. The Big Banana. The Big Cactus. The Big Shaqtus. The Big Baryshnikov. The Big Aristotle. And of course, The Big Crybaby Bitch. All in all, Shaquille O’Neal has had his fair share of self-imposed nicknames over the years.

And now, folks, he goes by a new name: Shaq-ovich. Now that shit is funny. Riding a 12-12 streak at the free throw line that ended last night, Shaq explained his new nickname as such: “If you go around the league, anybody with the last name ‘vich’ is a great shooter … Radmanovic, Vujacic … all those ‘iches.’” (Hmmmm…wonder why he used two Lakers as examples…exactly!) Still a bit butt-hurt over the whole Lakers divorce, but can’t stop laughing at this one.
