Miracle at Staples Center: Dude Hits $165,000 Shot

If you have been to any Lakers game the past 2+ seasons then you have surely seen the Mirage Resorts halftime half-court shot. Every home game, an additional $5,000 is added to the prize until someone makes the shot. Tuesday night the Lakeshow hosted the Atlanta Hawks, and as this was the 33rd home game, the purse was up to $165,000 (33 x $5,000 = $165,000, genius). The way the crowd and players erupted, you’d have thought the Lakers had just won the championship. Simply awesome. By the way, its the FIRST time anyone has hit the shot…

Bynum Out For Good!?

I am so frustrated that Andrew Bynum is AGAIN injured with a torn MCL that at this point I think we should just take him out back behind Staples Center and just shoot him like they do horses. Although he may be the missing link to our next championship he is no good to us on the sidelines in a pimped-out suit and some diamond bling-bling. So If he can’t keep his feet in place, or his balance for that matter, I think we should have him replaced/shot/beaten/whatever.

Shaq. The Diesel. Shaq Fu. The Big Daddy. Superman. Osama Bin Shaq. The Big Banana. The Big Cactus. The Big Shaqtus. The Big Baryshnikov. The Big Aristotle. And of course, The Big Crybaby Bitch. All in all, Shaquille O’Neal has had his fair share of self-imposed nicknames over the years.

And now, folks, he goes by a new name: Shaq-ovich. Now that shit is funny. Riding a 12-12 streak at the free throw line that ended last night, Shaq explained his new nickname as such: “If you go around the league, anybody with the last name ‘vich’ is a great shooter … Radmanovic, Vujacic … all those ‘iches.’” (Hmmmm…wonder why he used two Lakers as examples…exactly!) Still a bit butt-hurt over the whole Lakers divorce, but can’t stop laughing at this one.
