The ISH this week was a special one, not for the mere reason that it took place on a Tuesday night instead of our regular Wednesday night, but because it was a DJ Battle Royal sponsored Red Bull, an open bar, and none other than DJ CRAZE spinning and judging, arguably the best DJ in the world!  I’ve never seen Ghostbar as packed as it was, not even when Aoki or Mickey Avalon played.  The open bar definitely got everyone loosened up and above was our spinning DJ winner of the night!  Check out the rest of the photos HERE!

The [Hellox6 x DYFO] SXSW Backyard Blowout was epic. The house was sick, and our friends who all came from all over were amazing and contributed in some way or another. Florene was one of my favorites shows of the day as were Jessica 6, The Happen-ins, Hoyotoho and Sore Losers. Tonight, Dustin Hollywood and I are interviewing Jessica 6 before their show in Denton — which should amazing. I have to say this years SXSW was by far the most exciting and fun partly due to everyone who came out and supported us.

A very special thanks to SXSW, Sea of Shoes, Neon Indian, Honor Roll Music, Jessica’s Mirror, Sweet Green and saving the best for last: DYFO.

Our very special St. Patrick’s Day Party at The ISH with Marshall Barnes was amazing! So many people came out to celebrate our favorite drinking holiday and do it in style.  We had a special photobooth and Marshall Barnes’ set sent the party into overdrive at midnight and lasted all night long!  We hope to see everyone this Tuesday a special ISH, a huge Battle Royale event hosted by DJ Craze! Long overdue, but nevertheless amazing. I ran into Billy Sexcrime backstage at the Erykah Badu vs Shiny Toy Guns Red Bull Sound Clash, and as promised my man gives us a very exclusive mix for this weeks Music Friday. I got the chance to go by the BODIES EXHIBIT in West End in Downtown Dallas today.  This was one of the best scientific exhibits I have ever been too — as well as artistic.  The means by which these bodies were obtained and used for the exhibit is highly controversial, as they were not donated to science but rather Jane/John Doe’s.  How they created some of these controversial presentations is as amazing as it is intricate.  I advise everyone to check this out if you ever get the chance!  Thanks to the Museum for letting us come by and share what we saw with you all.  See the rest of the photos from the exhibit HERE.

I’ve never seen a hip hop performance by anyone before, but holy hell is it an experience. Recording artist COMMON performed with DJ IRIE at Ghostbar for the 944 Magazine NBA Allstar After-party on Sunday.  I was lucky enough to get a press pass to cover the event, and it was nothing short of amazing.  The rhythm of the room (not to mention obscene amount of basketball players, celebrities, and people) was something I haven’t seen since Mickey Avalon played at Ghostbar late last year.  Common has always been a pick of mine when it comes to hip hop, his musical genius is unique and has the power to make you move and smile, it was definitely the highlight of the night.  Check out the rest of the photos from the night HERE.

If there was one place I wanted to be when midnight hit Valentines Day Saturday night, it was Fallout Lounge!  CJ and Mattie conquered their third annual ‘Fall In Love At Fallout.’

Steve Aoki was back for his second time to ‘THE ISH’ this past Wednesday and he never fails to deliver something unforgettable every time.  I haven’t seen Ghostbar that packed full of people since the last time he was in town at the end of last year. Adding to all the NBA All-Star Week energy going around, he started the festivities around Dallas off the way you’d expect — hard, fast, and on point.  This was one of the best parties I’ve been to so far this year!  Check out the rest of the photos from the night HERE!
