My new favorite Photographer: Philip-Lorca Dicorcia has an incredible eye and absolutely stunning prints. I am specifically taken aback by his book A Storybook Life which showcases pictures all over the United States as well as Europe.

The disparate photographs assembled here were made over the course of twenty years. None of them were originally intended to be used in this book. By ordering and shaping them I tried to investigate the possibilities of narrative both within a single image and especially in relation to the other photographs. A Storybook Life is an attempt to discover the possibilities of meaning in the interaction of seemingly unrelated images in the hope that content can constantly mutate according to both the external and internal condition of the viewer, but remain meaningful because of it’s inherent, but latent content. The conscious and subconscious decisions made in editing the photographs is the real work of A Storybook Life. -Philip-Lorca diCorcia

With this fresh inspiration I am now even more excited to shoot during my trip to New York this weekend!

Life In Minneapolis..

So it’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to post anything, I’ve been really busy with my jewelry and such getting that off the ground, which you’ll see some Helloooooo Jewelry special made by me up here soon! I’ve been in Minneapolis hiding out working on my collection and traveling. Thought I’d throw some photos at you guys of life up here so far, a glimpse into the unknown, haha. I’m here until summer then I go back to LA!

It’s snowing now in Minneapolis, has been for a month, this weekend there was a blizzard that dumped 2 feet of snow and -20 degree weather, this shot was before that.

Last week my friend Jeffree Star came into town to play a show, he’s from LA, and I stopped by to hang out for a bit.

A few weeks after I first got to Minneapolis my friend Jonny Craig of Emarosa and Dance Gavin Dance was in town with Emarosa playing a show at the Cabooze, we had a hell of a night that night!

One of the best shows I’ve seen up here so far, Circa Survive and Attack Attack at the Cabooze!

My Friends the Millionaires are obssessed with my feather Jewelry, they wore it on stage the night I hungout with them and have ordered a bunch since..

Halloween was crazy, we ended up drinking a ton of patron and going to a bunch of dance parties, haha!

Lastly this is a shot I took/made for my collection RedDevilLove, ‘The Devil In Me’.

I’l be posting regularly now that I have a little more time, I’ve got a ton of stuff coming up too, like a two week roadtrip across the U.S., NY Fashion Week, Me Undies shoot in LA, and SUPERBOWL XLV in Dallas!!!

Sorry for the late post tonight but life has been incredibly wild and exhausting lately. The highlight of of all this excitement definitely goes to the look of shock and awe on our good friend Tyler’s face when Los and I made a surprise appearance to his surprise birthday party at the beautiful Belmont Hotel in Dallas Friday night. To top it off, we got to celebrate Los’s birthday at the stroke of midnight too! I couldn’t be happier celebrating the birth of two of my favorite Libra men TOGETHER in the same room. Los and Tyler – I love you guys <3

Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza was really crazy and to be honest not really my scene. The beaches were amazing as was some of the food but these mega clubs that held like 6,000 people were a little intense and insane for me. On top of that everyone was smoking cigarettes like they just came out of their last AA meeting. Below are some of my favorite pics of Ibiza. Guetta was Ghetto.

Just landed in Rome today and was finally able to get Internet in my room. My first stop on the trip was Amsterdam, then Paris which was delectable, took a night train to San Sabatian, Ibiza, and finally now Rome. I still have a week to go and pictures to post from Paris and on. Jay’s Juices in Amsterdam was one of the best juice bars I have ever been to, as was this restaurant we went to called Cafe George. Check back soon for more.

[Polaroid Wednesday] El Cosmico

Visits in Marfa have always been delightful, however my last trip out there in May was even more enchanting and inspiring than ever before. I stayed at Liz Lambert’s El Cosmico, a fun vintage airstream trailer-turned hotel on an 18 acre plot of land smack in the center of town. The trailers are impeccably redone inside and designed with the best modern country taste. I even got to stay in the one giant tee-pee on the grounds my last night – where we took full advantage of the fire pit (and yes, that does include fire dancing) surrounded by 50 cow-hyde rugs in the middle of the room. It is definitely one of the most peaceful places I can imagine and will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Lambert herself has said the very idea is to allow for artistic inspiration. “Getting hundreds or thousands of miles from home with nothing by sky and view removes a lot of distractions.” I couldn’t agree more.

This place is a MUST if you ever go to Miami… the espresso shot is so sweet yet so bitter, very delicious and addicting. Perfect way to get the night started as a shot of their coffee is like three 5 hour energy drinks. Tell David we said Helloooooo.

Last Week in Taos

This has been a very interesting month to say the least bit. I have learned a tremendous amount in such a short period of time and feel I have become a much better photographer. I have met some amazing new friends along the way which I hope to visit in the winter. My focus for my project was on the people of Taos so I met a bunch of interesting people. One thing that took me by surprise was how diverse this place really is. I apologize for the lack of post lately as I have been removed from civilization somewhat but I can promise you we will be back at it in July and August giving you the best pictures, and tales from my month long trip to Europe that begins in just a few weeks. Stay tuned this is going to be a wild summer.

Ed: Rio Grande Hot Springs

I met Ed while visiting the Rio Grande Hot Springs in Taos, New Mexico where they also filmed a scene from Easy Rider. Ed was this amazing hippie who came to bathe and relax with his dogs and was extremely opinionated about George W. Bush. I will have to upload some videos I took of him later . Ten more days till I officially move back to LA.

Chimayo, New Mexico

Took a road trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico today to hit up a camera store. I got a bunch of new goodies including this amazing 12 mm fish eye lens. On the way back to Taos we took the scenic route again and stopped this time in Chimayo, New Mexico to visit a holy shrine. I met these people below there who said they worked at a close by farm.

[TAOS, NEW MEXICO] Day 1

My first day in Taos and I’m already speechless. This place is amazing and really far out there in so many ways. It has been years since I have been here but it has never looked so beautiful. That’s also because the last time I was here I didn’t leave my hotel room. Today I made my first of what will be many trips to Taos Pueblo, a nearly 1,000 year old Indian community with people still living there. Many of the areas are restricted to the public in which secret rituals and prayers take place. I will be in Taos for all of June taking three digital photography classes and will be excited to share my work with you. Check back often as I will try and post daily.

Marfa, here I come again…
