As my beloved Lakers celebrated their championship yesterday with a proper parade, I instead chose to bask in the glory of having attended Game 7 with ‘the doc‘ and friends. The entire crowd was on the edge of their seats for 3+ quarters, but somehow, we all knew Kobe & Co. would pull off the victory…. right guys? By faaaaaar the most amazing night of my life; after my briss of course.

Sorry for the late post as last week was really insane as we prepared for SXSW. The Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight at Texas Stadium was truly a treat for the entire DFW area. This was my first time visiting the new stadium and I honestly can’t wait to go back as it was enormously big and cool. The screen itself, as most of you have probably heard, is the largest HDTV screen in the world. Pretty crazy if you ask me especially it being in the middle of Arlington, Texas. Overall it was a great fight and great after-party at Ghostbar.

Oliver Peoples has teamed up with dutil, one of North America’s most influential premium denim stores to open up their first collaborative pop-up, shop-in-shop on February 12th, just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The shop-in-shop will carry OP and Mosley Tribes, as well as Limited Edition Olympics-inspired frames, available exclusively in Canada. When you think tailgate, you think concrete parking lots, oversized jerseys, cheap meat and beer. Lots of beer. Simple as that. At SMU? Not so much. Try a well-manicured courtyard, custom fit oxfords, venison sausages and Pinot Grigio.

Shok and I decided to head down to “The Boulevard” at SMU to scope out some 18 year-old girls good old-fashioned tailgating ahead of the game against Who-The-Hell-Cares. We hung out with some alumnus, and hung out with some current students. Even former President George W Bush was in attendance. The result? A beautiful drunken fall Saturday afternoon — complete with pre-game F-22 fighter jets zooming overhead. God bless Texas.

One of the docs favorites of all time. Originally release in 96′, Jordan is re-releasing one of the most sought after and adored kicks of all time. November 27th, mark your calenders, and grab your chair, because if your lucky enough to have a store in your area getting them, there will be a wait.

What do you get when you add beer, breasts and cash prizes? A wild and crazy beer pong tournament, duh. This Saturday, August 22, a few friends are launching the inaugural WCBPT event at Lee Harvey’s in Dallas.  There are 3 different brackets: Singles ($15), Doubles ($20) and Bikini (Free, naturally). Sign-ups close by noon on Saturday and the first (filthy) balls are to be thrown at 1pm sharp, so plan your Friday night’s festivities accordingly. Highlights include a $100 cash prize for “Best Distraction,” a Floating Beer Pong Table for the winners of each division, and a prize for best “Team Outfit.”

Now time to step it up a notch: First 60 folks to mention “HELLOOOOOO.COM” at the door on Saturday get the additional day-of $10 fee waived. If you are lazy like us and don’t plan more than 4 hours in advance, then you gotta love that.

CBS Sports has just confirmed that the Lakers will be signing Ron Artest next season! I am so excited I am headed to the bball courts now with my Lakers shirt in hand!

Had the pleasure of sweating my ass off at two Texas Rangers games this week: the first against the Toronto Blue Jays (never heard of ‘em…really) and the other against my beloved Dodgers (Manny who?). The coolest attraction of all was the new Cowboys Stadium across the way looking like a spaceship gearing for take off. Aside from the father of three next to me rocking the woven multi-colored anklet at one game, the crowds were mellow and the beers were frostier than ever.

Being the spoiled brats that we are, Shok, the rest of the crew and I decided to beat the heat and valet our cars. A brilliant concept indeed: Valet free for Lexusers and $30 for non-Lexusers.

Do the math: Valet parking + icy Coors Light + piping hot chicken tenders = home run!

In a shocking turn of events, everyone seems to be on Kobe’s you-know-what these days. First, The New York Times publishes an article claiming Kobe has been rival-less his entire career; Then, Shaq goes on the record by tweeting “I want kobe bryant to get number four, spread da word”; Even Mr. President himself goes on the record picking the Lakers, in six. But of course leave it to a journeyman nerd from Guadeloupe (where?) to make waves by deciding to ditch his Kobe sneaks in favor of Jordans. You know what Mickael Pietrus, good — you didn’t deserve to wear them anyways. Ironically, Kobe will be rivaling MJ’s legacy while dropping dimes on some ugly dude wearing #23′s kicks. The NBA — where “in your eye” happens.

Stopped into a favorite LA lunch spot last week only to have the waiter hand me the number “23″ — in burgundy and white no less. Does homeboy at the counter not watch the incessant Sportcenter/Vitamin Water/Nike puppet Kobe v. Lebron banter bombarding us all day long? And in Los Angeles of all places. Shame on you, Mr. Cashier. Orlando in 5.

My trip started off in Las Vegas last Sunday for a real estate convention known as ICSC. Our first night out we ran into Aziz Ansari from NBC’s “Parks & Recreation.”  The convention I have to admit was dead, but not bad if you are a pervert looking for a great excuse to leave your girlfriend/wife for a couple days for a “Business Trip.”

By Wednesday I was in LA, and our first night out ended up being kinda slow, highlighted by dinner at tapas hotspot Cobras & Matadors. Thursday afternoon we stopped by the SLS Hotel’s sick poolside to have a few drinks. Unfortunately that evening was a blur after the disappointing loss at Staples Center where I found myself pissed as hell because entire sections were empty and the fans had zero energy. Friday night I headed to nightlife staple “Guys” which is now being run without my favorite door personality Darren D. DJ Devin Lucine was spinning and did not disappoint.
