Joe Rosenthal takes a photograph depicting five United States Marines and US Navy Corpsmen raising a US Flag during the battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. This became the only photograph to win the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in the same year as its publication and possibly the most reproduced photograph of all time.
