This year, for our 2-year anniversary, we have (finally!) gotten a chance to team up with the ever-so-charming and always fashionable folks at V.O.D. Boutique to bring you a night filled with handmade crochet and lace dresses (Magda Berliner), custom cocktail fedoras (House of MacGregor), groovy ear candy (DJ Blake Ward), the sickest blog in Dallas (Helloooooo.com, obviously) and a dozen or so dancing circus midgets (we wish). And don’t forget the libations and photobooth!

[New Music Find] Redstone Hall

I was very excited this week when I got an email from Zack and Steven from Redstone Hall about their new album ElePhant they just recently released. I am horrible at classifying music but I would say they have a new wave/classic rock feel that will take you by surprise as many might not expect such talent out of this foursome. Saturday night I was invited to the Havaianas party by Geri from Because I’m Addicted. The party was hosted at a Hancock Park Mansion and had a Fat Burger truck and a full open bar with everything you can ask for… minus Jack. While the rest of the crew is headed out to SXSW after hot beats provided by the one and only Marshall Barnes tonight @ ‘the ish’, I am drinking alone at home. So looks like I’m the big winner. Which is even more true now after discovering PLONK wine merchants. Founded by Etty Lewensztain, a self-proclaimed, “curly-haired, food and wine obsessed Los Angeles native,” PLONK is the ultimate destination for cool boutique wines at ridiculously good prices. Nothing on the site is above $30. There are even short videos on every wine describing what to expect and pretty amazing food pairing suggestions (although I wish there was a link to the recipes). Drinking alone has been sadder, but it definitely hasn’t been cheaper.
