While the rest of the crew is headed out to SXSW after  hot beats provided by the one and only Marshall Barnes tonight @ ‘the ish’, I am drinking alone at home. So looks like I’m the big winner. Which is even more true now after discovering PLONK wine merchants. Founded by Etty Lewensztain, a self-proclaimed, “curly-haired, food and wine obsessed Los Angeles native,” PLONK is the ultimate destination for cool boutique wines at ridiculously good prices. Nothing on the site is above $30. There are even short videos on every wine describing what to expect and pretty amazing food pairing suggestions (although I wish there was a link to the recipes). Drinking alone has been sadder, but it definitely hasn’t been cheaper.

Oliver Peoples has teamed up with dutil, one of North America’s most influential premium denim stores to open up their first collaborative pop-up, shop-in-shop on February 12th, just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The shop-in-shop will carry OP and Mosley Tribes, as well as Limited Edition Olympics-inspired frames, available exclusively in Canada. If you live in the area, or are lucky enough to be visiting for the Games, make sure to stop and take advantage.

I was drawn to the above image (Raincoat) for obvious reasons, but I’m glad I delved further into her work. Amy Kaufman work illustrates a strong interest in bold pattern based abstraction. I love color blocking and art that forces the viewer to search for more than meets eye.

Am I obsessed? Yes. Do I care? No. Everything CP does is simply perfect. Clean lines, minimal designs. Perfect with any outfit. What I like about the new Achilles is the classic gum sole that was made famous from shoes like the Adidas Samba. Expected these to drop somewhere around the end of the month.

Undefeated, Creative Visions Foundation, and the estate of Adam Goldstein present the DJ AM Memorial Fund Sneaker Auction. This auction is for sneakers from DJ AM’s personal collection and 
100% of the proceeds of the auction will go to the DJ AM Memorial Fund which exists to help organizations and projects committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery.

Totaling out at around 900 pairs, DJ AM has amassed one of the premier sneaker collections in the world. His collection is primarily made up of limited edition and downright impossible to get/find kicks. It is truly an incredible collection going to an incredible cause. Some highlights that are already up: Nike SB What The Dunks (above), PRod 2′s custom by Stash, Snake Blazers and the most ridiculous Nike SB Pusheads ever, that are already up to $990.00 at last check. I love James Dyson. He finds a problem with successful products that you think will never be changed, and changes them. And it the process makes them a hell of a lot better. His companies newest invention is the Air Multiplier (above), which draws in air and amplifies it 15 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air, without blades or grill. This eliminates “buffeting,” caused by the blades chopping up the air before it hit you.

In honor of Scott Schuman’s book launch in New York, he is collabarating with Barneys to open an exclusive pop-up shop called The SartoriaLUST. “It has everything a Sartorialist would lust for…a specially curated mix of clothes and accessories pulled from the entire men’s store at Barneys New York.” If you’re in the area this is definitely worth a look. Especially for the Dries Polaroid Tee.

One of the docs favorites of all time. Originally release in 96′, Jordan is re-releasing one of the most sought after and adored kicks of all time. November 27th, mark your calenders, and grab your chair, because if your lucky enough to have a store in your area getting them, there will be a wait.

Thom Browne says that you can wear them with everything — think I want to wear them with shorts. But I will curse the day I scuff them.
