The weather was idyllic; the photobooth was a-snappin’ away; the whiskey cider was sizzling; the energy was high. All in all, a flawless setting for an amazing evening.

This past Thursday we had the pleasure of having our [HELLOX6 2-Year Anniversary] at V.O.D. in Victory Park with a special trunk show from the oh-so charming (and talented) Magda Berliner and a super-hip and sexy pop up shop from House of MacGregor. Truly was one for the ages.

This year, for our 2-year anniversary, we have (finally!) gotten a chance to team up with the ever-so-charming and always fashionable folks at V.O.D. Boutique to bring you a night filled with handmade crochet and lace dresses (Magda Berliner), custom cocktail fedoras (House of MacGregor), groovy ear candy (DJ Blake Ward), the sickest blog in Dallas (Helloooooo.com, obviously) and a dozen or so dancing circus midgets (we wish). And don’t forget the libations and photobooth!

Last year’s tremendous success with ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ in NYC has given Angelenos the good fortune of getting its own this year. This Friday, September 10, the biggest names in West Hollywood retail will be extending their hours and the City will be hosting block parties and celebrity appearances in grand style to celebrate. As my beloved Lakers celebrated their championship yesterday with a proper parade, I instead chose to bask in the glory of having attended Game 7 with ‘the doc‘ and friends. The entire crowd was on the edge of their seats for 3+ quarters, but somehow, we all knew Kobe & Co. would pull off the victory…. right guys? By faaaaaar the most amazing night of my life; after my briss of course.

2010 is the year of KASKADE. Dude played one of the most talked about sets at Coachella this year; has a weekly residency in Las Vegas; his album ‘Dynasty,’ is killing it on the Dance charts; and his collaborations with Deadmau5 make my ears melt.

As a special treat we have his ENTIRE 1-hour set from Coachella 2010. I have been working out to this mix the best couple weeks and the energy will ruin you. Good ruin.

Was messing around on HBO and came across a fascinating documentary, ‘Smash His Camera’, about Ron Galella, the original papparazzo. The man is a piece of work with a career that spanned 5 decades. His obsessive treatment of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis resulted in a 150-foot restraining order and several free-speech court cases; he even got several teeth knocked out by the infamously photo-unfriendly Marlon Brando and showed up at the Waldorf-Astoria several years later in a helmet just in case (above). Not known as the best technical photographer, he is rather best known for his subjects and the extreme lengths to which he would go to capture them (“He really is the price tag of the First Amendment,” is how one of the interviewed puts it). Ron Galella: a true photographic pioneer.

Last week was both the Grand Opening of Teddy’s Room and the launch of [Thursdays] with our homey DJ Politik providing the nasty beats. They say a picture says a thousand words — with Dustin Hollywood behind the camera, the picture can speak somewhere in the millions. Minimum.

Last week we announced the launching of [ Teddy's Room THURSDAYS ] with DJ Politik on 5/27… now we wanna give you a sneak peek as to what to expect from this much-needed addition to the Dallas nightlife scene. Named after our 26th President, Teddy’s Room boasts a sophisticated, library-esque decor; burlesque dancing from the world-renowned Carolina Cerisola (above); and live jazz music by The Rough Riders (above x 2). Best part of all?
