Last weekend I went out to see my friends in the band’s Neon Indian and Ishi play at Hailey’s, in Denton, TX. The show looked like it was gonna sell out at 8pm and they didn’t even go on until 11:30pm, it was pretty amazing! This time last year Neon Indian was but a beginning, now in 2010 they’ve seen and toured the world, been mentioned on the national news, and have a fan following that seems to growing by the minute. They aren’t the only band making waves though, Ishi is just another example of the growing music scene in Dallas, TX, despite the citiy government’s blatantly obvious hatred for it, and anything creative. Ishi’s sound is a finely tuned dancing machine, that infects anyone that hears it. I even found myself dancing in the middle of photographing them! Look for big things coming from these two bands in the future!
