How do you repay a $25 Billion bailout that almost brought your economy to a crippling standstill? Well, in Dubai, you start by naming a tower after the president (Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan) of the country (Abu Dhabi) that helped bail you out. Ladies and gentlemen, we present you the Burj Dubai Khalifa!
Opening on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, the Burj Khalifa is over 800 metres (2,625 ft) tall and has more than 160 stories, the most of any building in the world and has an observation deck on its 124th floor with 360-degree views of the entire city. No word yet on whether the building has found any tenants.
