Fashionleak.org Interview with John Renaud

fashionleak interview with john renaud

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to tag along with the the girls from Austin-based Fashionleak. Each year, Fashion Leak seeks to select 12 independent designers to be featured online, highlighting their artistic vision and creative process. This month’s featured designer, John Renaud, is a graduate of Pratt Institute and got his roots in pattern making and technical design at Laura Moore Technical Services where he worked for clients such as Oscar De La Renta and Chesley Mclaren. He later worked with Christian Joy on her line and also on costumes for the ‘Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ and ‘Klaxons.’

Renaud also trained under designer Gary Graham and created pieces for electronica star Peaches and he continues creating costume pieces for her current tour. The interview at his amazing apartment in Dallas will continue October 30th when Peaches arrives in Dallas for a show at the Granada Theater.
