Moo.com

Gilberto and I ordered our new business cards on Moo.com at the recommendation of Dagnushka — and after nearly two months and ten nasty emails, our business cards finally arrived this past week (in 5 amazing variations nonetheless). During the ordeal Gilberto would “cc” me on the emails. An example below…
Hello sir,
With all due respect asking [...]

My buddy (and food wizard) Thomas took me to a brand new Brooklyn-style deli in Preston Royal for lunch today. Shockingly, Dallas doesn’t have many Jewish delis and being from LA, I have always been huge fan of eating reubens or matzo ball soup while surrounded by grandparents. No one can touch Nate ‘n Al’s. [...]

Day Trip To CHICAGO

Went to Chicago today for a few hours with Papa Shok. Not much to report but I did notice the Sears Tower changed names to Willis Tower. You must have quite an ego to rename a historic landmark after yourself. Go figure.

I almost caused a four-car pileup trying to chase this dude’s truck on Turtle Creek (aka Wilshire Blvd of Dallas). Hmmmm… SMU Business School graduate, unable to find a job via “normal” avenues, desperate enough to turn his car into a mobile craigslist ad. It’s official folks: the recession has hit Texas!

If you recall, a while back we did a post on the new Cowboys Stadium ahead of its completion. This past Sunday, Gilberto and a couple homeys rolled up to the Chelsea v Club America soccer match with some lovely arm-candy in tow. In true Helloooooo.com style, we parked 15 feet from the Stadium and [...]

Nani Luau

Darq Matter — a DJ duo comprised of Jean Philippe-Bartier and Omar Hasan — played the Helloooooo.com “Luau” on Saturday night and they tore it up. These dudes have a certain spunk and uniqueness to them I have yet to see eslewhere.  Wish I had more pictures of the event but the days photoshoot wore me out.

Cool Bag: COS Backpack

Where was this type of backpack when I really needed one? The good thing about this bag is that even if you don’t need one, you want one. Its classic, stylish, and perfect for anywhere.

The disco ball was gleaming, the photographers were shooting, and the models — well the models were just looking hot. Last nights “Gold” party co-hosted by ETCx2! and Helloooooo.com was a total success. More pictures to follow.

Nobody Gettin’ Out Alive

Took this picture in a building in Oak Cliff I broke into over the weekend. Pretty scary if you ask me.

Unfortunately I had to see this one with my own eyes.  I’m not sure if this was a practical joke or not (probably not) but kudos to the guy for doing his own thing. I just pray his friend in the water with his thumbs up behind him is not also wearing the same thing.

The Basement at Suite has once again proven to be a hot spot. This past Friday Gilberto and I along with the rest of the crew headed there after dinner and drinks at the new Geisha House in Dallas.  Next week we are co-hosting the “Gold” party at Suite along with ETCx2 and Hoyotoho!. Hope to see everyone there.

Metro Diner has been a personal favorite of mine for years and had recently heard a rumor it had closed down. Not the case apparently.  Metro Diner is still hands-down the best late night diner/restaurant in Dallas and is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The best part is you never know who or what [...]

After several long months of noisy construction, several different owners, endless speculation and random Asian dudes smoking cigarette after cigarette, Geisha House at Villa Rosa finally opened to the public last night. Shok, myself and the gang made the (short) trek to the newest dining spot in Uptown Dallas. Dubbed as a ‘hibachi’ restaurant, I [...]

Coming Soon

Last night was pure insanity. Post coming soon on the opening of Geisha House @ Villa Rosa in Uptown Dallas, and pictures from the Basement @ Suite. Taylor William Ghrist (below) at Suite rocking the hardest outfit of the evening — by far.

Cops & Robbers

After the soft-opening of “Park” last night, I headed to Fallout Lounge (in the outfit above) to meet up with the homeys and take a few pictures at their “Cops & Robbers” party. The tattoo-friendly crowd had me almost wanting to wear fake sleeves just to fit in. Tonight I am going to the soft opening of a [...]

Park – Dallas, TX

Last night was the soft opening of restaurateur Donald Chick’s “Park” on Henderson. The layout and design of the place reminded me of a modern-day, eclectic version of The Beverly Hills Hotel sprinkled with some Southern flare. The lighting and ambiance were on point, as was the food. We shared the mussels and pizza to start and for my main course [...]

Dead Man’s Curve

Yesterday while driving in the bo-dunks of Dallas, I took a few shots having ventured off into no-man’s-land just past “Dead Man’s Curve” off Highway 175-Kaufman. On the one side you had the Confederates, while on the other, “The Black Warriors.” Having no idea what we were doing there, my friend Aaron and I luckily [...]

Sixty-four years ago today, Manhattan Project: “Trinity”, the first nuclear test explosion, was detonated near Alamogordo, New Mexico. The Trinity detonation was equivalent to the explosion of around 20 kilotons of TNT and is usually considered the beginning of the Atomic Age.

Although colored movies were taken of the  Trinity test, they were of poor quality [...]

Coolout @ The Cavern

Every Monday, the Cavern hosts “Coolout Mondays”. This week, I couldn’t stay for too long b/c I had to be up early the next day. But for the few minutes I was there, I was able to shoot a couple regulars.
