Peaches came to town and literally “did” Dallas. Gilberto and I headed to the show this past Friday with dates in hand — only mine was a Sony HD camera. The show was pure insanity. After each act Peaches continued to outdo her last performance, and continued to engage the crowd more and more. The performance included a crazy laser show during one song, Peaches climbing up a stage light in another, and lastly her singing with a hologram female rapper. The best was definitely when she crowd-surfed back to the stage after a random strut down a drink table in the middle of the concert. All in all, a terrific and extremely creative set. Unfortunately, I lost my cell phone near the end of the show and had to stumble thru the masses and keep calling it until someone finally picked up. (A special thanks to the person who found it). Afterwards we hopped in a cab and headed to Ghostbar to catch Ian and Calvin from Hoyotoho spin a DJ set. I have to give it up to these guys because they can get any crowd started even if it is halfway made of “suits.”
On Wednesday, Gilberto will be headed to LA to catch the Lakers championship parade in Downtown and I will join him on Friday to continue the weekend long festivities. One word, six letters: R-E-P-E-A-T.
