So, What’s News?

Ahhhhh, vacation. Traveling to a foreign country is all about learning new cultures, tasting new foods, meeting new folks from all walks of life, buying cool souvenirs (read: crap) you can’t find in the States…and of course, catching up on lots and lots of world news. I meant lots and lots and lots. Not because you are so interested in knowing what is going on back home; rather, because CNN and BBCNews happen to be the only channel in English, so deal with it. After watching these two channels pretty much non-stop for the past 11 days, I believe I could become quite the successful international news programmer. Don’t believe me? Check out my current news lineup…

  • The world economy is fucked
  • US manufacturing is at a 28-year low
  • Israel will not accept a cease-fire until Hamas stops lobbing rockets
  • Cut to commercial for Namibia (“The Future Business Hub of Africa”)
  • Cricket update (Australia is no longer a superpower, folks)
  • Japan’s economy is fucked
  • Russia is sneaky; very sneaky
  • Soccer update (David Garrard arrested for beating some ass in a pub)
  • The world hates America
  • Obama is black
  • London is cold; Abu Dhabi is hot
  • Cut to commercial for tourism in Sri Lanka
  • Hamas has a lot of rockets; Israel has a lot of tanks
  • US government will bail-out anyone who screws up; the more you screw up, the more you get rewarded
  • UK’s economy is fucked
  • Cut to CNN commercial with Christiane Amanpour
  • US economy is fucked
  • Israel won’t allow foreign reporters into Gaza; Hamas still lobbing missiles
  • Zimbabwe is a (gasp!) unstable country
  • Soccer update, again

(I have to go now. My head hurts).
