Bush Haters or Low Lifes?

(Photo courtesy of Dallas Morning News)

I was driving to class yesterday and just as I was about to pull into SMU (Southern Methodist University) I see some people with barrage of signs which I was almost certain were welcoming Ex-President Bush back to Texas…..guess again. Instead these were protesters with signs that read “W = Worst president,” “W= War Crimes,” “W= Is Not Welcome here!” Now I am definitely no Bush supporter – or lover for that matter – but these people are no better than W himself and the same people that probably put him into power. Do you people not have lives or work to attend? Has the results of the past 8 years of your support made you so angry you feel like you need to get a last minute protest in? I really hope these backward thinking people wake up from their comas and realize they need to move on.  We have a new President and his name is OBAMA!

    Actually… I can understand that.

If you think about it: Here is a man, who by all accounts has lied to bring us into a war, has spent trillions on that war, slashed civil liberties, promoted torture, tarnished the reputation of america around the globe, is responsible for thousands of deaths, not to mention all the things he just MIGHT have had a hand in that will never be proven for sure…

and he will never be put on trial for it. He will never have to answer for it except to God. He will live out the remainder of his days in the languish that so many ex-presidents often are afforded.

Will there still be anger? Of course. Just because we have a new leader does not mean that the slate has been wiped clean. Or that this new leader will be any better than the old one. People need to stay angry about this, to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. Becoming complacent about the whole thing and just saying “well, those 8 years are up, lets move on” reeks of the typical American Amnesia. We simply cannot afford that. If we want results, we have to demand them of our leaders. If we want these mistakes rectified, we have to stay angry about them and not let them pass quietly into the dust. Too many human beings have been murdered over it. Whether its state sanctioned murder via the m-16 or the ak-47, or not, people have died. That anger and grief will not, and should not, pass quickly.

i think people more our less are embarrased about their previous support for not so smart george jr.

now that obama nation has taken into effect. our generation is speaking out…our parents have followed our foot steps.

its no longer a fight btw. the two parties.

    its a fight for change.

so..what i am saying….LET THE PROTEST CONTINUE. —–just don’t spend so much time wasted on the W.
get your last vents out…now lets focus on the bigger picture!!!

    THE ECONOMY!
