Peanut Butter & Jealousy

You may recall my anger and astonishment several weeks ago over (gasp!) 7-Eleven’s decision to drop the PBnJ sandwich from its refrigerated snack arsenal. It was so bad my testes dropped a couple centimeters when I found out. For you ladies out there, that shit sucks.

Well luckily this past weekend a dear friend of mine happened to run into the Corporate Chef for 7-Eleven. (I don’t know about you but when I think “7-Eleven” and “chef” in the same sentence, only one image comes to mind). After a little investigative work (and a lot of footsie) she found out that several stores still carried them, but of course the fifty-three local 7-Eleven’s immediately surrounding me don’t. I mean, I must have nabbed two to three of those suckers a day so you can’t tell me my Bangladeshy dude behind the counter wasn’t killing it on the restock orders! Also, apparently the morning-delivered sandwiches were hardening by lunch so Mr Chef and his team are currently “working on” a new peanut butter recipe that addresses the problem. Nobody in Dallas really works, so I’m pretty much doomed. And so goes the legend of my beloved PBnJ…

    RIP PBJ

ps – i actually preferred the post-noon version. pop that bitch in the microwave for 10 seconds (trashy poptart style) and you’re in nutty jelly heaven.
