As I’m sure many of you are already aware Sirius and XM satellite radios merged earlier this year and have since combined their stations. The Department of Justice’s Antitrust division released a statement saying, “After thorough and careful review, it’s determined that allowing the two satellite radio companies to merge is not likely to harm consumers.” Well let me just say that that statement is a whole lot of bullshit! Since the merger, my favorite satellite radio station aka Boombox 39 (which played a format of break beats, electro rock and hard to find remixes) has since been replaced, and to add insult to injury the new 39 is a new POP2k station which makes me want to grind my teeth and kill myself. Who wants to hear Brittney Spears and Hannah Montana types at 7 am? I personally don’t, and if i did there are already 5 other stations i can turn to. Why take my Boobox 39? I have to say its been a very difficult few weeks trying to get over this and I must say I have felt very “off” to say the least bit. I mean can you imagine what its like to pick up a first date and not have good music to listen to and thus feel totally uncomfortable? Its like a bad scene from A Night at The Roxbury, and although i thought i was the only one grieving over this loss when I did a little research I found message board after message board with people just like myself who cannot seem to understand how Sirius Radio could do such a thing. So I am joining a coalition to try and fix this and below i have attached a letter to fill out and send to the CEO requesting they bring back our BOOMBOX 39 and restore some much needed order in our lives.
